Baxter is a robot that can replace workers for roughly 22k. It doesn’t require 20K a year in health care costs by 2016. It will not get tired. When the farming jobs began to disappear during the rise of the machines who could have imagined that the streets would not be filled with starving farm hands but instead they would be working in factories. Who could have imagined when manufacturing became automated in the 60’s & 70’s that people would be doing jobs like web designer, router engineer or replacing the embedded computer on an automobile. We can never see very far down the road.
